Making the world a little better every day, that is the joint mission of clothing brand Silvercreek and design studio Planq. That is why they enter into sustainable cooperation; a new step forward in denim recycling.

Silvercreek gives old jeans a second life; Together with Planq they turn it into a unique design chair. You can hand in your old jeans at a Silvercreek point of sale of your choice; Silvercreek is exclusively available at about 70 OPEN32 stores in the Netherlands. 

PLANQ - Experience design 

Design studio PLANQ was founded by the twin brothers Anton & Dennis Teeuw. Together they design and make design furniture and interiors from residual and renewable materials. As young innovators, they believe in the power of what design can do. PLANQ is one of the "Sustainable Young 100 innovators of Holland" and stands for bringing together both sustainable innovation and environmental awareness.     

PLANQ offers designer furniture under the REZIGN label. These furniture are made from natural fibers, such as hemp and flax, jute waste bags from the cocoa and coffee industry. PLANQ also makes innovative design furniture from old company clothing and denim. 

SILVERCREEK

As a clothing brand, Silvercreek has the vision to create a brand for women and men with a strong authentic character, combining history and creativity in a contemporary way, resulting in an original and innovative collection.   

Silvercreek, like PLANQ, is aware of the need to look for sustainable innovation and improvement. Silvercreek strives to offer a product that contributes to a better environment and adds value to the consumer; a product with a strong identity that matches the Dutch mentality.

PLANQ and Silvercreek therefore do not see old jeans as waste, but rather as a raw material for making renewed products. The common goal is to raise awareness among their target group and to reduce the impact on the environment. With only 1 chair made from recycled denim, up to 10 kilos of waste and 16,275 liters of water are saved. In this way, PLANQ and Silvercreek close the chain and contribute to a better world for tomorrow. 

The limited Silvercreek x PLANQ chairs (and other design products) will soon be available exclusively in the Silvercreek Flagship store Breda and online at silvercreek.nl.

History 

Silver Creek, Colorado, has been a prosperous mining village from 1875 to the "Silver." Crash of 1893. Miners were often seen in jeans at the time. Not just it material, but also the history that denim brings are strong basis within the Silvercreek collection. 

 In the 50s of the last century, the village was revived by the many craftsmen. The history of pioneers, miners and artisans inspire the Silvercreek brand nowadays. Passion for the rich history and the making process behind a fashion item, combined with the attention to detail, material and quality, then translated into a contemporary style. Those are the basic ingredients of Silvercreek, that make the collection unique, refined and modern vintage.
