.Denim exhibition in Basel
Spot our Unusual Denim Chair at the exhibition ‘Denim - stylish, practical, timeless - Blue fabric with a history’ in Basel, Switzerland from October 17 until April 5, 2021. This exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the facets of the fascinating material called denim. With a rich history, there is much to tell about the blue material. For example, denim jeans were invented as practical and robust working jeans, but has blossomed into a daily fashion item!
However, the flip side of this blue fashion item is the vast amount of textile waste it causes. In order to avoid the jeans from burning, we aim to create unexpected furniture from this denim waste. This shows that denim is not only a fashion product but can be reused for many other objects as well for a circular economy.
For this exhibition, they brought over 125 denim objects together from various European museums, private collectors, and installations from galleries and artists from all over the world. We are thrilled to be part of this exposition to show people that denim is much more than solely a fashion item!
